Composite Doors in Moreton That Are Secure, Warm and Built to Last

If your front door rattles in the wind, sticks every winter, or simply lets the whole street down, it’s time to look at a composite door. Moreton grew quickly between the wars, and it shows in the housing — long runs of 1930s semis off Hoylake Road and Pasture Road, terraces and shop-top flats around Moreton Cross, and newer estates filling in towards the common — and each calls for a different door style. We come out, measure your opening, talk you through the designs, colours and glass options, and give you an honest written quote with no pressure.

Moreton weather, stopped at the door

⛅
Live in Moreton

Moreton sits on the flat land behind the north Wirral shore, with only the common and the embankment between the town and the sea. A composite door’s GRP skin and compressed weatherseals keep the wind that whips past Leasowe Lighthouse and the rain blowing in over Leasowe and Meols exactly where they belong — outside.

Doors as varied as Moreton itself

Cottage and panelled styles for the terraces around Moreton Cross; classic designs for the 1930s semis off Pasture Road and Hoylake Road; contemporary slabs for the newer estates towards Saughall Massie and Upton. We match the door to the street, not the other way round.

Warmer hallways, quieter homes

Whether you live up by the shore end of Pasture Road, in the busy centre around Moreton Cross, or on the through-route along Hoylake Road, a composite door does the same two jobs right across Moreton: it keeps the heat in and the noise — and unwanted visitors — out.

Perfect Wirral has been fitting doors, windows and conservatories across Moreton and the wider Wirral for nearly two decades. Every composite door we install is tested to PAS 24:2022 with multipoint locking as standard, fitted by our own employed team, and backed by a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee — with glazed doors certified through FENSA. Composite Doors in Moreton — Your Questions Answered

Still unsure? Ask us on your free survey.

How much does a composite door cost in Moreton?

It’s the question everyone asks first. The honest answer is that it depends on the door: style, glass design, sidelights and top lights, colour and hardware all change the number, which is why we don’t publish fixed prices.

Instead we give you an exact, no-obligation written quote after a free home survey, with no hidden extras. Request your free composite door quote.

Are composite doors better than uPVC doors?

For a front door, generally yes. A composite door’s multi-material construction — a GRP skin over a solid insulating core — makes it significantly more rigid and harder to force than a standard uPVC door, and it insulates better too. Our composite doors are tested to PAS 24:2022, the enhanced security standard. uPVC remains a good budget-friendly choice for back and side doors.

How long does a composite door last?

A quality composite door typically lasts 25 to 35 years with minimal maintenance. The GRP skin is colour-stable and weather-resistant, so it won’t fade, crack or warp over time — your door should look as good in ten years as it does on installation day.

Do I need Building Regulations approval for a new front door?

Replacement external doors are covered by Building Regulations and must meet current thermal standards. Where the door is more than 50% glazed, we can self-certify the installation through FENSA (#34055), so you get a compliance certificate without dealing with the council. Either way, we handle compliance for you — see the Government’s Building Regulations guidance for the full requirements.

Are composite doors secure enough for insurance?

Our composite doors are tested to PAS 24:2022, the British Standard for enhanced security against physical attack, with key-operated multi-point locking as standard — the kind of specification many insurers look for on external doors. Correct installation matters too: a misaligned frame compromises the locking system, which is why every door is fitted by our own trained team.

What colours and finishes can I choose?

From classic black, blue and green through to anthracite grey, red and duck egg blue — with dual-colour options (a different finish inside and out) and a choice of handles, letterboxes, knockers and spy holes in chrome, gold, black and satin finishes. We can also match your door to your existing or new uPVC window frames for a consistent look across the front of the house.

How long does fitting take?

Most single-door installations are completed in around half a day. Our fitters remove the old door, install the new composite door and frame, make good around the opening and tidy up fully before they leave.

Which door is best for homes near Moreton Shore?

Moreton sits on flat, open land behind the embankment, and front doors up towards the shore end of Pasture Road take the wind coming straight in off Liverpool Bay. A composite door is ideal here: the GRP skin won’t warp, rot or swell like timber, the colour won’t fade in the coastal weather, and properly compressed weatherseals keep out draughts and driving rain. We’ll advise on the best spec during your survey.

What guarantee do I get?

Every installation comes with a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee (IWA), which stays valid even if anything happens to the company — so you’re covered long term. The guarantee is only valid when the door is fitted by qualified professionals, which every one of ours is.

Which areas around Moreton do you cover?

All of Moreton across CH46, plus Leasowe, Saughall Massie, Upton, Meols, Hoylake and the rest of the Wirral. See the full list below.
