The different Conservatory Styles explained

We install a range of different conservatory styles including Victorian Conservatories, Edwardian Conservatories,
Gable End Conservatories and Lean To Conservatories.

Read on below for more information.

Victorian Conservatories

The Victorian conservatory is probably the most recognisable of all styles.

With its segmented front, classical ridge cresting and finials, combined with the sloping facets of the roof, this style can add the perfect finish to modern or period properties.

There are many ways to personalise your new conservatory, such as dwarf walls, internal cills for your prized ornaments or glass to the floor to get the best view of your garden.

Our designers are on hand to help you get the best out of the space available. The Victorian conservatory is also very flexible in design with 3 or 5 facet options, or a stretched front so you can create a design to suit your taste and needs.

Edwardian Conservatories

Whether you are contemplating using your new space as a Games Room, a Dining Room, a Playroom or just some additional living space, the Edwardian conservatory has many possibilities.

The Edwardian conservatory is instantly recognisable by the square fronted, symmetrically designed shape. This style is very neat and tidy and maximises the available living space. This makes the Edwardian conservatory a really handy shape for laying out furniture and plants, with no wasted space. With its typically high, sloping roof style creating a spectacular vaulted effect, your conservatory floods with light, making it a bright, airy and uplifting room.

Don’t worry if you live in a bungalow or have other height restrictions – we can add a hip-back to the roof with a box gutter, or as an alternative, a peaked offshoot can be created into your existing roof, complete with matching tiles, so whatever style of home you live in, the Edwardian conservatory can look stunning from any angle.

Gable End Conservatories

A gable-end conservatory can add real grandeur to your home. These conservatories date back to the Georgian style, of which the modern gable-end conservatories are a variant.

With its segmented front, classical ridge cresting and finials, combined with the sloping facets of the roof, this style can add the perfect finish to modern or period properties.

Lean To Conservatories

The Lean-to is the simplest style of conservatory, with clean lines that give it a contemporary look and make them a popular conservatory for modern houses.

This conservatory style will be ideal for you if you prefer the simple, understated lines of a Mediterranean sunroom.Whether your lean-to conservatory is traditional or contemporary, the style is perfect for properties that have restricted space under the eaves, like a bungalow, or have an area that’s too awkward to accommodate a conservatory. This is because the pitch of the roof on lean-to conservatories can vary – so a shallow pitch can fit under a low bungalow roof and a steeper one would be ideal for a terraced house.

Lean-to conservatories can also be called sun-lounges or garden rooms, and they bring a flavour of the Mediterranean into your home, trapping the winter sunlight and converting it into heat through the glass. The simple shape of the lean-to conservatory gives you the maximum space in a highly economical style. This style of conservatory is perfect for incorporating full width Patio or Bi-fold doors across the front so that you can open it up for complete uninterrupted access to your garden.
